Staff Profiles

Darrell A. Hillis, CPA, CFP®

Darrell graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1978 with a degree in accounting. After working in the field of public accounting for ten years he branched out and started his own accounting firm in 1988.  This firm today is Hillis and Clark, CPAs, PLLC. Darrell specializes in tax, IRS representation and financial consulting.

He married his wife Laura in 1987 and they have one grown son, Andy. They are longtime members of Brentwood Baptist Church.  His hobbies include playing tennis and being part of the Church media team.

Steve Clark, CPA

Steve graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1992.  He joined Darrell at that time as a staff accountant.  He became a licensed CPA in 1993 and a partner with Darrell in  1994.  Steve specializes in tax and small business accounting and more specifically enjoys helping small businesses with their accounting software setup and design.

Steve is a native Nashvillian and has been married to his wife Cathy since 1996 and has a son, Will, and daughter, Maria.  He enjoys golfing with his buddies in his spare time and is a long suffering Vanderbilt Commodore fan.

Amy Hutchins, CPA

Amy graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2007. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Management from Austin Peay State University in 2010 and then became a licensed CPA in 2016. She began work in public accounting at Hillis and Clark, CPAs in October of 2007.

Amy was born and raised in the Nashville area. She enjoys playing and watching sports, hiking, attending concerts, and traveling.
